I have a wattle obsession that starts in winter with the first blooms and ends at the beginning of summer when it seems the last species stop flowering. I have what feels like an innate need to follow the blooming through my art and try to create at least one piece representing each flowering species in my area per season. The blooms for this piece came from our Blackwood acacia that flowers near Graceburn Creek at the back of our property. Here the fragrant blooms are posing between a lovely little vase that has a Haworthia succulent sitting in it and my beautifully glazed Sadler jug.

This piece is created using both watercolours and watercolour pencils.
