I have a wattle obsession that starts in winter with the first blooms and ends at the beginning of summer when it seems the last species stop flowering. I have what feels like an innate need to follow the blooming through my art and try to create at least one piece representing each flowering species in my area per season. I often harvest from the roadside, bring the fragrant blooms home and then style them in my favourite vessels. This species is South Australian but I found it in Chum Creek (Victoria). Here it is sitting in a vanilla essence bottle, in the company of my Sadler jug, a tiny and beautiful old medicine bottle, and my Clarice Cliff teapot.

This piece is created using both watercolours and watercolour pencils.
