I am a collector of books. Some I collect because I know at some stage I will read them, others I buy because they look nice and I can imagine them in my still lifes. This little collection was purchased for both reasons from a second hand shop in gorgeous Reefton, a small town surrounded by mountains in the South Island of New Zealand. The flowers were given to me by one of my beautiful students and were included in several paintings before they lost all their petals to my despair because they are a total joy to paint!!

This piece is created using both watercolours and watercolour pencils.
